Hakhamanesh is an Assistant Professor at NYU School of Medicine's Center for Human Genetics and Genomics and the Division of Biostatistics in the Department of Population Health. He earned his PhD in Biological Sciences from Columbia University with Molly Przeworski and completed postdoctoral training with Jonathan Pritchard at Stanford University in the Department of Genetics.
Outside the lab, Hakhamanesh enjoys New York's art and music scene, practicing Iranian classical vocal music, and is a member of the Bronx County Chorus.

PhD Rotation Student
Yihao is a PhD student in the Division of Biostatistics at NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s Department of Population Health. He received his B.S. in Statistics with Honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an M.S. in Biostatistics from the University of Pennsylvania. Yihao’s research interests include statistical methodology, network-informed causal inference, and cell-type-specific eQTL studies in disease contexts. Outside of research, Yihao enjoys watching movies and photography.
Gouri

Research Associate
Gouri completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s (integrated dual degree) in Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. She is broadly interested in applying computational and statistical methods to analyze and interpret biological data in the context of diseases. Besides research, she enjoys Indian classical music, traveling, and playing badminton.

High School Student
Baback is a student at Henry P. Becton Regional High School in New Jersey, with a strong interest in the role of genetics in public health, particularly in disease prevention and treatment. He also serves as a legislative ambassador for the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Action Network. In his spare time, Baback enjoys exploring the area’s diverse food scene.
