Mostafavi, PhD
Principal Investigator
Hakhamanesh is an Assistant Professor at NYU School of Medicine's Center for Human Genetics and Genomics and the Division of Biostatistics in the Department of Population Health. He earned his PhD in Biological Sciences from Columbia University with Molly Przeworski and completed postdoctoral training with Jonathan Pritchard at Stanford University in the Department of Genetics.
Outside the lab, Hakhamanesh enjoys New York's art and music scene, practicing Iranian classical vocal music, and is a member of the Bronx County Chorus.

Yanina
Kuzminich
Postdoctoral Fellow
Yanina earned her PhD in Bioengineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, where she studied LNP-mRNA delivery to the central nervous system with James Dahlman. Outside the lab, Yanina enjoys aerial silks, art museums, and cinematography.

Sool
Lee
Postdoctoral Fellow
Sool earned his PhD in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he studied the allelic regulatory effects and pleiotropic relationships of common genetic variants associated with psychiatric disorders under the mentorship of Hyejung Won. Outside the lab, Sool enjoys New York’s live music scene and photography.

Gouri
Rajaram
Research Associate
Gouri completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s (integrated dual degree) in Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. She is broadly interested in applying computational and statistical methods to analyze and interpret biological data in the context of diseases. Besides research, she enjoys Indian classical music, traveling, and playing badminton.

Casagrande
PhD Rotation Student
Mary is a PhD student in the Division of Epidemiology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s Department of Population Health. She received her B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology with Honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an M.P.H. in Epidemiology from the University of Washington-Seattle. Her research interests include genetic and molecular epidemiology, as well as the epidemiology of chronic disease. In her personal life, she loves to read fantasy and science fiction, and she loves to travel.

Jenisha
Stapleton
PhD Rotation Student
Jenisha is a PhD student in the Division of Epidemiology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s Department of Population Health. She received her BA in Biology with a minor in Dance from Bryn Mawr College and an MPH in Epidemiology from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Her research interests include infectious disease and sexual health epidemiology, women’s health, and health disparities. Outside of research, Jenisha enjoys dancing and crafting.

Rishav
Eliyahu Sofer Dasgupta
MS Student
Rishav obtained his bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Chemical Biology from Vanderbilt University and is currently pursuing a Master's in Biomedical Informatics at NYU Langone. His research background is in HIV virology and immunology, and his current research interests include identifying biological factors to improve genomic risk prediction. Outside the lab, he enjoys singing Sephardic classical pizmonim, cooking, and reading about history.
