How does genetic variation lead to variation in complex traits and susceptibility to common diseases? Which genes underlie specific traits and diseases, and why? What cellular and molecular processes mediate the genetic effects? How can functional knowledge inform disease prediction and prevention?
To address these fundamental questions, we use and develop computational and theoretical approaches that integrate molecular and cellular perspectives with insights from evolutionary and population genetics.
MOSTAFAVI
LAB
Welcome to the Mostafavi lab in the Center for Human Genetics and Genomics and the Division of Biostatistics in the Department of Population Health at New York University Grossman School of Medicine. Our overarching goal is to understand the genetic basis and biology of human complex traits and diseases.
